Yacht Charter Azores: Pico – Marina Lajes de Pico

Pico, the island next to Faial, is often called "Black Island" (Ilha Negra) because of the more than 100 volcanoes and the predominating lava stone. Pico is well known as the island of the whalers – and for the wine they grow here. The main town of Madalena is connected by ferry to Horta. On Pico, there are several small ports – in the south, near the picturesque village of Lajes, there is the Marina Lajes do Pico with a small charter basis for charter Azores crews. Lajes is the oldest settlement on the island – and the scenery is so picturesque that it is one of the UNESCO world heritage.
