Yacht Charter Sao Vincente – Mindelo

Mindelo, home of the Yacht Charter base, is the secret capital of the islands, situated on Sao Vicente. During the time of war it was a German submarine base and playground of secret agents of any kind. The town, which is located on the big nature bay of one of the nine inhabited islands of the Cape Verde Archipelago, is homeport of a small Yacht Charter fleet now.

Yachts are anchoring in the spacious Mindelo bay, some on the stopover of the Atlantic crossing. Cargo ships, fishing boats, old ships that look like wrecks – the mixture of vessels afloat is rather interesting for Yacht Charter crews. There even is a yacht club in Mindelo near the Yacht Charter base, as well as various relatively modern cafés, some colonial buildings and a remarkable fish market – best opportunity to buy food before the Yacht Charter cruise.

The Yacht Charter marina Mindelo has been opened in 2007. Cape Verde Yacht Charter crews now find here 145 berths on floating docks, bathrooms, gas station, a restaurant and wireless LAN.
