The alpine country offers several very beautiful beats for sailors and motorboat fans. The Attersee is known for its regattas with wonderful traditional wooden boats, the Wörthersee for elegant summer retreats in Carinthia. More relevant for charter people are Lake Constance and Lake Neusiedel, whereas the charter bases on Lake Constance are mainly on the German shore.

Lake Neusiedel, on the border to the Hungarian puszta, has its own true charm. Wide reed belts on the shore, warm water, reliable Continental climate with 300 days of sunshine per year: in summer, it’s well possible for the lake to warm up to 30 degrees with 40 degrees of atmospheric temperature. With a slim water depth of 6 feet at most, centreboard cruisers or cabin yachts are advisable for trips.

On land, sailors can look forward to cosy picture perfect villages and towns with the typical charm of the Burgenland, hospitable people, great Pannonian cuisine with Hungarian and regional influences plus delicious fish dishes and fantastic wine from the Burgenland.
