There are marine reserves, more than 100 types of corals, more than 500 types of fish and of course dolphins. And atolls and many picturesque sandy cays. Ashore you can explore the Maya Mountains or even a jaguar sanctuary.
Sailing Colombia: In Colombia you can charter catamarans from Cartagena but you need a to book a skipper as well as the captain needs a local Colombian nautical licence. Cartagena is lying at the Caribbean Coast of Colombia and has big commercial ports and marinas. It is the home base of the Colombian Navy and a very safe area. Sailing Chile: In Chile you can now sail in a rather protected area of Patagonia from Puerto Montt. The town in the South of Chile is the administrative center of the Llanquihue province and marks the Southern End of the Panamericana. The vulcano Cabuco which is more than 2000 m high, spectacular lakes and landscapes and the Isla Grande Chilloé, a big island with a nature reserve.
Sailing USA: Of course Newport on the US East Coast is well known by sailors from all over the world. The venue for the first America’s Cups is a legend. New England itself is a popular sailing area.
